The one of the largest gaming notebooks. MSI have continued that score by sending us another behemoth in the form of the GX60 gaming notebook. By now we probably shouldn’t be too surprised by MSI’s “go big or go home” concept for their gaming notebooks , but it still does not dilute the fact that the GE60 looks like it was made with body-building gamers in mind.
The GX60 features a 15.6-inch backlit Full-HD display at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. In terms of ports, it has 3 USB 3.0 ports, an SD/MMC card reader, and VGA,HDMI and display connectivity. The three display output eyefinity to output into three monitors- not something you had expect on a notebook.
The best parts of the GX60, of course, come in the form of the processor and GPU that is used to power the notebook. An AMD A10-sereis processor is used to power the brains, while an AMD 7970M GPU is used to power the graphics.
Similar to the GE70 ,the GX60 also has a gaming keyboard by Steelseries and as we mentioned in our previous review, they are one of the best keyboards that we have played around with on a notebook period. The track pad is rather hit and miss however, and you should be getting a proper gaming mouse to use in tandem with the keyboard.
In terms of storage ,the GE60 is equipped with a 128GB Super RAID drive with a 750GB HDD drive so that you don’t have to worry about running out of space installing all those games that you have bought of steam. Not to mention having your games and programs load faster than ever.
As far as gaming goes , the GX60 does not disappoint in any way, as the performance is just as good as if we were playing on a desktop machine. Battery life does not do very well ,but it is a given seeing that this is a desktop replacement machine, and should be plugged in when use.
